House Rules

The following house rules will be in effect within my Avvis campaign. If some of them have unpredicted adverse effects, I’ll remove them. Likewise, if I think of any further house rules, I will add them to this document. The following rules are listed in priority order:

  1. Dire animals do not possess ridiculous horny growths growing from there bodies, rather they are simply bigger. meaner and thoroughly more dire than their non-dire equivalents.
  2. Players are not required to rest for 5 minutes after each encounter in order to regain encounter powers. When an encounter ends, I will state “the encounter has ended” in my meta-game DM voice. For duration purposes, encounter powers still have an approximate duration of 5 minutes.
  3. During character creation, players can choose additional languages for their character equal to their INT modifier. I have decided this after reviewing the rather restricted language list and factoring in the corresponding fact that players cannot therefore gain full benefit from the Linguist feat (i.e. there are not enough available languages to choose from).
  4. During character creation, players can select one magical item of [starting level] + 4 (or lower) that there character will begin play with.
  5. The following feats are free feats, i.e., at 1st level, all PCs are assumed to possess them:
    • Power Attack
    • Restful Healing
